Principles for Responsible Investment

Principles for Responsible Investment

BCI is a founding signatory of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). At the heart of the PRI is the idea that investors have a duty to act in the best long-term interests of their clients and beneficiaries. This directly aligns with our own mandate and fiduciary duty to our clients. The PRI provides a set of principles for their global network of institutional investors; on behalf of our clients, we are committed to integrating environmental, social, and governance factors into our processes.
Our Involvement with PRI

As a founding signatory, we promote acceptance and implementation of responsible investing within the industry. BCI actively participates in PRI discussions and sits on committees and groups covering topics ranging from credit ratings, to human rights in the extractive sector, to methane emissions, and sustainable stock exchanges.

We are committed to reporting our responsible investing activities. We do this with our clients and with the public, sharing our Proxy Voting Guidelines, our engagement priorities, as well as a number of publications including our ESG Annual Report, our proxy voting record, as well as our submissions and comments to regulators and standard-setting bodies.

Our PRI Assessment

The PRI assessment is a valuable tool that allows BCI to benchmark our responsible investing practices against others. A standardized methodology is applied, and each signatory is provided with transparency and assessment reports.
