
Aaron Papps
Senior Managing Director
Location: VictoriaAaron Papps joined BCI in 2017. He co-leads the industrial services team as a Senior Managing Director. The industrial services team focuses on numerous industrial markets including aerospace, transportation, logistics, packaging, automations, shipping, and building products. With $250.4 billion in gross assets under management as of March 31, 2024, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.
Prior to joining BCI, Aaron accumulated 15 years of investment banking experience at global investment banks, advising on over $50 billion of mergers & acquisitions (M&A) transactions, and a wide variety of financing and capital markets transactions. From 2011–2017, Aaron was Managing Director, Head of Canadian energy investment banking at Morgan Stanley. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Aaron worked for 10 years at Merrill Lynch as an Investment Banker advising oil and gas, power, and fertilizer companies based in western Canada.
Aaron is a CFA® charterholder since 2003 and was called to the New York State Bar in 2001. Aaron graduated from the Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Law School at York University with an MBA and LLB in 2000 and from the University of Ottawa with a bachelor of administration in 1996.
Aaron currently serves as Board Director for PS Logistics, one of the largest flatbed transportation and full-service logistics companies in the United States; and Compre Group, a global property & casualty (P&C) legacy insurance consolidator. Aaron has also been involved in the co-sponsor investments and partial exits of Refresco Group, a contract manufacturing beverage provider; and BHC Chicken, a fried chicken franchise in Korea, as well as a number of minority stake investments including Stada Arzneimittel, CAR Inc., and Waterlogic Group Holdings.
