Dean Qu rejoined BCI in 2022 and is based in New York. He leads BCI Private Equity’s Capital Solutions strategy and team, which oversees investments beyond traditional buyouts, focusing on structured equity, GP solutions, and strategic opportunities, with a flexible mandate across sectors and geographies. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.

Dean brings extensive global experience having worked across London, New York, Asia and Canada and as a private equity investor focusing on the financial and business services sectors. Prior to rejoining BCI, Dean worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse, private equity at GTO Partners, private equity at BCI (pre-MBA), and in mergers & acquisitions (M&A) advisory at PwC Corporate Finance. Dean graduated from the London Business School and the British Columbia Institute of Technology and is a Chartered Accountant.

Dean currently serves as a board observer for Yinson Production, a leading integrated provider of comprehensive FPSO solutions. He has also been involved in BCI’s direct investments in Hayfin Capital, Authority Brands, Global Gruppe, BMS Group and BHC Chicken.
