James Qian
Senior Principal
Location: New York
James joined BCI Private Equity as a Senior Principal in 2024 and focuses on the Financial & Business Services sector. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets.
Prior to joining BCI, James was a Vice President at Gallatin Point Capital for over three years, where he closed eight investments across property & casualty insurance, life and annuities, banking, and specialty finance. He deployed over $900 million of capital, including co-investments. Previously, James was in the Financial Institutions Group at Cerberus Capital and the Financial Services practice at Oliver Wyman.
James graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, majoring in physics.
