James Qian
Senior Principal
Location: New YorkJames joined BCI as a Senior Principal in October 2024 focusing on the financial services sector. With $250.4 billion of gross managed assets as of March 31, 2024, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets.
Prior to joining BCI, James was a Vice President at Gallatin Point Capital for three and a half years, where he closed or signed eight investments across property & casualty insurance, life and annuities, banking, and specialty finance. He deployed over $900 million of capital, including co-investments. Previously, James was in the Financial Institutions Group at Cerberus Capital and the Financial Services practice at Oliver Wyman.
James graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, majoring in physics.
