
Jennifer Coulson
Senior Managing Director & Global Head, ESG
Location: VictoriaJennifer Coulson is responsible for leading all ESG strategies and programs at BCI. This includes advancing BCI’s ESG approach in line with the fast-changing landscape, and its support for the global goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. With $250.4 billion of gross managed assets as of March 31, 2024, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is the provider of investment management services for British Columbia’s public sector and one of the largest asset managers in Canada.
Working in the financial services industry for more than 20 years, Jennifer most recently served as Senior Managing Director, ESG in public markets at BCI. Since joining in 2012, she has built a world-class public markets ESG team focused on active ownership and led BCI’s public markets efforts related to ESG integration, direct and collaborative engagement, policy advocacy, and proxy voting.
Jennifer holds a degree in environment and resource management from Western University and a masters in environmental studies from York University. She has received the corporate director designation (ICD.D) from the Institute of Corporate Directors; chairs the 30% Club Canada investor group; serves on the Government of British Columbia’s ESG Advisory Council; sits on the investment advisory committee for the University of Victoria Student Investment Fund; and sits on the board of the SDI Asset Owner Platform. Jennifer has been recognized as one of British Columbia’s most influential women in finance by BC Business Magazine.
