Asad Rawra joined BCI in 2017. He focuses on the healthcare investment sector, with specialization in numerous markets including life sciences and biotech, medical products, payor businesses and services, healthcare providers, retail pharmacy, and healthcare information technology. With $250.4 billion in gross assets under management as of March 31, 2024, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.

Prior to joining BCI, Asad accumulated over 15 years of experience across investment banking and advisory services. From 2010-2016, Asad was a Director for the global investment banking team at Barclays, advising public and private companies and financial sponsors on mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and a wide variety of financing and capital markets transactions. Prior to that, Asad was a top-ranked Equity Research Analyst at Canaccord Genuity covering Canadian and U.S. listed energy and energy services companies. Previously, Asad worked in the transaction advisory group at KPMG and began his career at Deloitte.

Asad graduated with a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Toronto; holds the CPA, CA designation in Canada and Illinois; and is a CFA^® charterholder.
