Senior Management Team

Jesus Alva joined BCI in 2011. With $295 billion of managed assets as of March 31, 2025, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is the provider of investment management services for British Columbia’s public sector and one of the largest asset managers in Canada. Since joining BCI in 2011, Jesus has progressed through roles of increasing responsibility, from Manager of Cash Operations to Senior Director of Derivatives, Collateral & Engineering to Vice President, Cash, Derivatives & Collateral.  

Prior to BCI, Jesus held several roles in foreign exchange trading, treasury, and banking at Custom House Global Foreign Exchange and Western Union Business Solutions. Jesus holds a degree in Economics with a specialization in Finance from the University of Victoria, has completed the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) at INSEAD, and is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
