    Sameer Jinnah

    Managing Director

    Sameer Jinnah is the Managing Director of Infrastructure & Renewable Resources at BCI. With nearly 20 years of experience in finance and investments, Sameer oversees the Forestry, Agriculture, and Infrastructure Credit investment strategies. BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors with $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, $32.2 billion of which is managed by the I&RR team.  

    In addition to his finance and investments expertise, Sameer has extensive experience in infrastructure, renewable resources, private equity, and private credit. He currently serves on the boards of Caddo Sustainable Timberlands (USA), Vista Hermosa (Chile), and Costa Group (Australia). He has also held directorships at Mosaic Forest Corporation (Canada) and Lumin (Uruguay).  

    Sameer holds an MBA from the Segal Graduate School of Business, a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, is a CFA and ICD.D charterholder, and is continuing executive training at INSEAD, pursuing the INSEAD Certificate in Global Management.

    Mark Johnston

    Mark Johnston joined BCI in 2004. He co-leads the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) sector team as Managing Director. The TMT team focuses on a broad range of technology verticals including software, digital infrastructure and fiber networks, data and information services, and the evolving cybersecurity landscape. During his time with BCI private equity, Mark has been extensively involved in strategy development, fund management, and principal investments across various sectors. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.

    Prior to joining BCI, Mark served as a Chartered Accountant at the Office of the Auditor General of B.C., where he obtained his CPA designation in 2004 and his CFA® in 2008. Mark remains designated as a CPA in his role at BCI.

    Mark obtained his bachelor of commerce from the University of Victoria.

    Mark currently serves as a Board Director of Fidium Fiber, a USA-based telecommunications provider; and Veracode, a leading global provider of comprehensive application security solutions. Mark also serves as an Observer for the board of Mitel Networks.

    John Lee joined BCI in 2022. He focuses on the consumer services sector, covering numerous consumer markets including food and beverage, pet services and products, household and personal products, and specialized consumer services.     Prior to joining BCI, John was a Director of Corporate Development & Strategy for Shaw Communications. Prior to Shaw, John worked in investment banking at FirstEnergy Capital in Calgary.

    Andrew joined BCI Private Equity in 2016 and focuses on the Consumer sector, with specialization in numerous markets including food and beverage, and consumer services.     Prior to joining BCI, Andrew worked in the investment banking division of National Bank Financial, where he was involved in a number of M&A and financing transactions. Earlier in his career, Andrew worked with the investment team at UBC Investment Management Trust. 

    Andrew is a CFA Charterholder and graduated with Honours from the Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of British Columbia where he majored in Finance. 

    Andrew currently observes on the Boards of Pave America, an asphalt and concrete paving services company, Refresco, a contract manufacturing beverage provider, Pete & Gerry’s, a USA-based provider of organically certified eggs;and Press Ganey, a leading Human Experience platform for healthcare, offering a suite of technology-based services. Andrew previously observed on the Boards of Springs Window Fashions and Hayfin Capital Management, and Tropicana Brands Group.

    Bandhna Mamak joined BCI in 2013 and heads Operations for Public Markets. She oversees a team that acts as a strategic partner to all investment teams within Public Markets, delivering expertise in the development of new investment strategies and value creation initiatives. The team also provides a strong operational foundation that supports ongoing business activities. With $295 billion of managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets.

    Since joining BCI, Bandhna has held progressively senior roles, including Senior Director and Director, Trade Management. She brings over 24 years of experience in the asset management industry, with a broad background spanning front office, operations, compliance, performance, and client reporting.

    Before BCI, Bandhna spent 11 years at Sectoral Asset Management Inc., where she was Senior Manager responsible for Trading, Risk, Operations, and Compliance.

    Bandhna holds an MBA in Finance from McGill University and is both a CFA and CAIA charterholder.

    Aun Mela joined BCI in 2018. Aun currently leads principal infrastructure investments as part of the renewables, North American, Latin America, and infrastructure debt sourcing and execution strategies. With $295 billion of gross managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets, $32.2 billion of which is managed by the I&RR team.  

    Aun’s infrastructure investment experience spans North America, Middle East and North Africa, including exposure to Asia and Latin America through transaction and asset management experiences. Aun has 15 years of overall experience and 12 years of infrastructure investing experience with a focus on power, renewables, sustainable energy, and digital infrastructure.   

    Prior to joining BCI, Aun was a founding member of Saudi Aramco’s renewable energy team and helped implement the National Renewable while working in multiple capacities as a sustainable energy investment professional.   

    Aun has an MBA from Ivey Business School, MSc. In sustainable electrical energy from Georgia Tech, MSc. From KAUST and B.Eng. Honors in electrical and computer engineering from National University of Singapore and McGill University.  

    Aun serves as a non-executive Director on the boards of Isagen, Shepherd’s Flat and Eku Energy, and is part of the coverage team of other infrastructure investments.

    Kacper Miszkiewicz

    Kacper joined BCI as Senior Principal in July 2024. With $295 billion of managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets, including $32.2 billion overseen by the I&RR team.  

    Before joining BCI, Kacper gained over seven years of experience in the infrastructure mergers & acquisitions (M&A) advisory, working for London-based firms such as Crédit Agricole CIB, Mediobanca, and Afry Capital. Prior to that, he focused on M&A in Warsaw, Poland, where he worked at Santander and Deloitte starting in 2013.   

    Kacper holds a master’s degree in accounting and finance from the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland. In addition, he completed an exchange program at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University in Canada.   

    Kacper is responsible for BCI’s investments in Renewi Limited, a European waste-to-product company, and A2 Motorway.

    Sarah Moreau

    Sarah Moreau joined BCI in 2020. She is a Managing Director based in Victoria and leads private equity investments in consumer businesses for BCI. With $295 billion of managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors.

    Prior to joining BCI, Sarah was a managing director at Fortress Investment Group in New York City in the private equity group. While at Fortress, Sarah focused on investments in the media, travel and leisure, and transportation sectors and was also involved in IPOs, debt financings and restructurings, in addition to general asset management of portfolio companies. Sarah started her career in 2002 as an Investment Banking Analyst at RBC Capital Markets. 

    Sarah holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance with honours from the University of British Columbia. 

    Sarah serves as a Board Director for Tropicana Brands Group, and as a Board Director and member of the Audit and Compensation Committees for Pete & Gerry’s. She also represents BCI on the LP Advisory Committees for three private equity funds based in the U.S. and Europe.

    Aaron Papps joined BCI in 2017. He co-leads the industrial services team as a Senior Managing Director. The industrial services team focuses on numerous industrial markets including aerospace, transportation, logistics, packaging, automations, shipping, and building products. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.

    Prior to joining BCI, Aaron accumulated 15 years of investment banking experience at global investment banks, advising on over $50 billion of mergers & acquisitions (M&A) transactions, and a wide variety of financing and capital markets transactions. From 2011–2017, Aaron was Managing Director, Head of Canadian energy investment banking at Morgan Stanley. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Aaron worked for 10 years at Merrill Lynch as an Investment Banker advising oil and gas, power, and fertilizer companies based in western Canada.

    Aaron is a CFA® charterholder since 2003 and was called to the New York State Bar in 2001. Aaron graduated from the Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Law School at York University with an MBA and LLB in 2000 and from the University of Ottawa with a bachelor of administration in 1996.

    Aaron currently serves as Board Director for PS Logistics, one of the largest flatbed transportation and full-service logistics companies in the United States; and Compre Group, a global property & casualty (P&C) legacy insurance consolidator. Aaron has also been involved in the co-sponsor investments and partial exits of Refresco Group, a contract manufacturing beverage provider; and BHC Chicken, a fried chicken franchise in Korea, as well as a number of minority stake investments including Stada Arzneimittel, CAR Inc., and Waterlogic Group Holdings.
