    Jon Perry joined BCI in 2016. Jon is focused on the renewable power, power generation and utility sectors across North America, South America, and Europe. With $295 billion of gross managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s institutional investors within the global capital markets, $32.2 billion of which is managed by the I&RR team.  

    Prior to joining BCI, Jon worked for 15 years in the utility and energy sectors. This experience was largely focused on renewable and power generation M&A, business development, and asset management. Prior to this, Jon worked in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and tax-related roles.  

    Jon obtained his BMLSc from University of British Columbia. He is also a CA, CFA charterholder, and ICD.D designation holder.    

    His portfolio company board positions include Cleco, Transelec, and Reden Solar where he chairs Cleco’s Audit Committee and Transelec’s Investment Advisory Committee. He is BCI’s designated representative for Reden Solar’s Development Committee.

    Mike joined BCI in 2025 as a Senior Principal on the Infrastructure & Renewable Resources (I&RR) team. BCI is one of Canada’s largest
    institutional investors, managing $295 billion in assets as of March 31, 2025, including $32.2 billion overseen by the I&RR team.

    Based in Victoria, Mike works closely with the management and governance teams of BCI’s infrastructure portfolio companies and plays a key role in the execution of transactions. He serves as a Board Member of VierGas and as an Alternate Director on the Board of Puget Sound Energy.

    A Senior Finance executive with more than 15 years of experience in infrastructure, energy, and clean technology, Mike previously led Citigroup’s Canadian Natural Resources and Clean Energy Transition group. In that role, he drove strategic growth and deepened client engagement across energy, low-carbon fuels, and the broader energy transition.

    Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Calgary.

    Asad Rawra joined BCI in 2017. He focuses on the healthcare investment sector, with specialization in numerous markets including life sciences and biotech, medical products, payor businesses and services, healthcare providers, retail pharmacy, and healthcare information technology. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.

    Prior to joining BCI, Asad accumulated over 15 years of experience across investment banking and advisory services. From 2010-2016, Asad was a Director for the global investment banking team at Barclays, advising public and private companies and financial sponsors on mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and a wide variety of financing and capital markets transactions. Prior to that, Asad was a top-ranked Equity Research Analyst at Canaccord Genuity covering Canadian and U.S. listed energy and energy services companies. Previously, Asad worked in the transaction advisory group at KPMG and began his career at Deloitte.

    Asad graduated with a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Toronto; holds the CPA, CA designation in Canada and Illinois; and is a CFA® charterholder.

    Alex Reid joined BCI in 2019. He focuses on the private equity department’s fund activity including primary fund commitments and secondary sales, as well as select co-investments. The funds team manages over 50 fund manager relationships, spanning buyout, growth equity, special situations, and other strategies. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.

    Prior to joining BCI, Alex was an Associate Equity Research Analyst at National Bank Financial in Calgary for two years. Before transitioning to investment management in 2017, Alex worked as a professional engineer in the energy sector. Alex has eight years of investment management experience and six years of prior technical experience.

    Alex holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Western University and is a CFA charterholder.

    Ashton Scordo

    Ashton Scordo joined BCI in 2016. He leads the venture and growth capital portfolio within private equity, with a focus on investing in both funds and growth-stage companies with a defined path to long-term success. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of the largest institutional investors in Canada.

    Prior to his current role, Ashton specialized in the technology buyout sector, focusing on a broad range of technology verticals including software, digital infrastructure and fiber networks, data and information services, and the evolving cybersecurity landscape. Prior to joining BCI, Ashton spent six years at Deloitte focused on mergers and acquisitions, mainly mid-market private company sell-side transactions.

    Ashton obtained his CPA designation in 2013 and holds a master’s in professional accounting and finance from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Arts in political science, international development and government from the University of Victoria.

    Ashton currently serves as a Board Director for Photonic Inc., specializing in next-generation quantum technologies. He is also a Board Observer for Dominion Dynamics, a developer of Arctic defence and autonomy systems; DLRdmv, a leading-edge vehicle title and registration platform; and Relatient, a patient engagement health care software business.

    Brit joined BCI’s Infrastructure and Renewable Resources team in 2021, focusing on the evaluation and asset management of direct investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and forestry. With $295 billion of gross managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets, including $32.2 billion overseen by the I&RR team.  

    Prior to joining BCI, Brit spent a decade in private equity, investment banking, and management consulting. She was an Associate Vice President with mid-market infrastructure fund InstarAGF, an Associate within the mergers & acquisitions team at National Bank and started her career in management consulting with a boutique firm before joining Concentra Financial.  

    Brit holds an MBA from Ivey School of Business at Western University and a BBA from the University of Regina.  

    She represents BCI as a Director on the boards of Global Container Terminals, Lumin Ltd and Caddo Sustainable Timberlands, and a Board Observer for Monterey Mushrooms, Mosaic Forest Management, and Teays River Investments.

    Steve Turner joined BCI in 2008 and is a Managing Director responsible for sourcing, executing and managing infrastructure investments. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors in global capital markets, $32.2 billion of which is managed by the I&RR team.  

    Steve has over 15 years’ experience in private markets investing. Prior to joining BCI, he was an Associate with Ventures West Management, a leading Canadian venture capital firm.   

    Steve has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana and an MBA from the University of Victoria. Steve is also a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of British Columbia, a CFA charterholder, and holds the ICD.D designation.   

    Steve is a member of the board at Nexus Water Group, which is the fifth-largest water utility in the United States. He also serves on the board of BBGI, a global concession-focused organization based in Luxembourg, as well as Cleco, a regulated electric utility in Louisiana.

    Zaman Velji joined BCI in 2015 and is a Senior Managing Director within the Infrastructures & Renewable Resources team, leading Asset Management for a portfolio spanning over 40 direct investments globally. He serves on the I&RR Investment Committee and spearheads various initiatives including coverage of Asian markets. With $295 billion of managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets, including $32.2 billion managed by the I&RR team.

    Prior to joining BCI, Zaman was a consultant with McKinsey & Company serving institutional investors. Zaman also worked in development and diplomatic roles with the Aga Khan Development Network, advancing international development priorities in Central Asia.

    Zaman has an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and undergraduate degrees in engineering and in government from Cornell University. He has also participated in governance programs at INSEAD and the Stanford Law School.

    Zaman serves as a board member of Frontier Tower Associates, Cube Highways, Corix District Energy, and Teays River Investments.

    Chris Weitzel joined BCI in 2018 to establish and manage BCI’s Funding Program and was appointed Senior Managing Director of BCI’s Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange team in 2024.     Chris joined BCI with more than 20 years of experience in fixed income, foreign exchange, and funding, including leadership roles at major global investment banks in London, New York, and Toronto. A UBC graduate and a CFA charterholder, Chris began his career at the Bank of Canada.
