Chris Weitzel

Senior Managing Director, Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange

Chris Weitzel joined BCI in 2018 to establish and manage BCI’s Funding Program and was appointed Senior Managing Director of BCI’s Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange team in 2024. With $295 billion of managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets.

Chris joined BCI with more than 20 years of experience in fixed income, foreign exchange, and funding, including leadership roles at major global investment banks in London, New York, and Toronto. A UBC graduate and a CFA charterholder, Chris began his career at the Bank of Canada.
