Helly Ajmera

Senior Director

Helly Ajmera joined BCI January 2023 and is Senior Director & Head of India Investments. Helly is responsible for Asia investments and for growing the program’s footprint in India and Southeast Asia. She collaborates with the boards and leadership teams of BCI’s direct investments in Asia and the Middle East to support long-term value creation. With $295 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets, including $32.2 billion managed by the I&RR team.  

Prior to joining BCI, Helly practiced infrastructure advisory for over 15 years at Ernst & Young. During her time there, she advised global pension funds and infrastructure funds on investments across transportation, utilities, and energy verticals. She has a background in mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, and infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs).  

Helly has completed her post-graduation in management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and graduated as an engineer in telecommunications.   

She represents BCI on the boards of Cube Highways, Altius, Emicool, and Frontier Towers.
