Sebastian Griffin joined BCI in 2019. He is responsible for asset management for private direct investments in infrastructure with a focus on transportation, telecommunications, and timberlands. With $295 billion of managed assets as of March 31, 2025, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within the global capital markets, including $32.2 billion overseen by the I&RR team.  

Prior to joining BCI, Sebastian was a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company, providing strategy and operations advice to power, mining and natural resource companies. 

Sebastian spent the first 10 years of his career in manufacturing operations within the paper industry.  Sebastian holds an MBA from the University of Oxford and a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.  

Sebastian represents BCI on the board of directors for Global Containers Terminal, Patrick Terminals, Mosaic Forest Management, and Nexus Water Group.
